The Americor program isn't the greatest, but it's not the worst either. After doing a lot of research, I found some things you should know. My program started by paying off most of my credit, except for the ones I didn't want included. It was supposed to take about four years, which seemed okay. They made estimates, set up a payment plan, and started negotiating with creditors. Payments were made from a special account whenever enough money was deposited there through bank drafts (they take a monthly service charge for this). After less than a year, almost all my credit accounts were settled, and my total debt was reduced by about 50-60 percent, which was nice. But here's the catch. They offered me a consolidation loan, which I got, only to find out that it would take an extra five years to pay off, and the total payoff would be about $10K more than my original debt! So, while my original debt went down, the new total was pretty expensive. I asked several times for special consideration on the loan payments because I was having more financial problems, but they kept saying things like "you might not understand how it works," "that's not what you signed for," or "there's no provision for that." They just couldn't help me out.

Despite being enrolled in the program for 9 months, I never received a single offer for the promised consolidation loan. Their response to my inquiry was simply an apology for misinformation. RED FLAG #3: I suspect Americor deliberately prolongs negotiations with creditors to extend the program duration. Out of 14 accounts in the consolidation program, only 2 were settled in 9 months. I took matters into my own hands, successfully negotiating with 9 creditors in just 17 days – a feat Americor couldn't achieve in over 9 months. RED FLAG #4: Communication regarding negotiations with specific debts is practically non-existent. Attempts to reach someone at Americor knowledgeable about settling a particular debt were futile. RED FLAG #5: Cancelling with Americor proved to be a challenging process. A written notice and a call to a sales agent are required, with persistent attempts to dissuade cancellation. The subsequent week saw a barrage of convincing emails urging a return to their program. RED FLAG #6: The situation took a bizarre turn when Patricia, unaware of my cancellation, attempted to re-enroll me without my consent. Legal intervention became necessary. In summary, Americor may be suitable if you have minor debts, are hesitant to negotiate directly, and are willing to endure their shortcomings. However, for those capable of managing negotiations independently, my experience strongly advises against engaging with Americor. Handling negotiations personally not only saves substantial fees but also expedites debt settlement, as demonstrated in my case post-cancellation. I'm willing to provide documentation to support these claims.

Initially, I signed up with Americor to settle my debts, but the process didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. While they did help settle some debts, each settlement led to an increase in my payments. I eventually got sued by one creditor who wouldn't negotiate. To make matters worse, the final total after settlements was only 25% less than my original debt due to their fees. The situation took a turn when Credit 9, their sister company, offered a high-interest loan to pay off the entire amount. The loan terms were overwhelming, and despite my struggles, Credit 9 seemed unwilling to refinance the loan into more affordable terms. I entered this process hoping for a better financial outcome, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. I would advise others to be cautious when considering these services, as the end result may not be as positive as anticipated.
