Great mic. Truly. Very good. Just a small hitch was the extra 10 bucks for quick delivery wasn't worth it as it still took a week to arrive. But, I'd bet that's USPS' fault. Still, big improvement in vocal quality! (Haven't tried it on instruments yet). Thanks, Dachman Audio!

I purchased two DA87i microphones

I purchased two DA87i microphones, and they are marvelous, possibly the best vintage U87 clones available. I tried numerous brands before discovering Dachman Audio, and the greatest aspect of it all is the impeccable customer service provided by Joshua from Dachman Audio.

This is a really good mic. I own a few great ones to compare, including some tube microphones that I’ve made from high-quality parts. This one has its unique sound. I feel happy with my purchase. This would be a great fit for any mic collection.

I received my 87i mic and connected

I received my 87i mic and connected it using the same preamp and compressor setup I have been using for other mics on a current project. The sound was really good, almost the same as the mic that inspired the 87i. I am quite happy with it!

This mic is a total rockstar

This mic is a total rockstar! It's killing it with AC guitars, vocals – you name it. The low end is like a warm hug, and the high end? Pure sweetness. Definitely a top-tier mic, giving off those pro vibes.

Got this mic, and for the money

Got this mic, and for the money, it's pretty sweet. Gives off vibes like the real deal u87i, not quite there but cool, especially considering the price. The bummer? They kinda forgot half my order, so I had to wait even longer. Major letdown. On the bright side, they tossed in an extra capsule – nice move there. Now, about those capsules, not entirely sold on the quality. Bit odd since they're hyped up as capsule experts. There's this "burn-in" time needed. At first, the capsule sounded off, like really bad. Took weeks of constant use to even out, and it's still getting there after 2 months. Build-wise, not too tricky if you're handy with a soldering iron and good at following directions, really carefully. Instructions could use a revamp for sure. Overall, my experience? Meh, okay. Slapped a 4/5, but if I'm real, it's more like a 3/5. Got one of the last old kits, so fingers crossed the MKII is a game-changer.

I recently snagged this mic, and let me tell you, it's something else! The build quality and sound are top-notch, especially with my Baritone/Bass voice. But here's the kicker—I thought I'd hit a $100 off button, but it didn’t show up at checkout. Ended up paying $699, which is still a good price, but, you know, who doesn’t want a discount? Then, just weeks after I bought it, they rolled out a 50% off deal on a second mic. If I'd known, I would’ve waited to grab that sweet offer. Having been in the music retail scene, I always made sure my customers knew how to save a buck or two. Wish I’d gotten the same heads-up!

I recently bought this microphone, and it's really awesome—sounds warm and smooth, plus it’s well-made. But I had a few hiccups with the order. After I paid, the shop kept saying my order was "processing" for days. Reached out to Dachman and they said the factory had a backlog, but it did ship soon after. The mic comes in a cool wooden case, but the big shock mount hardware doesn’t fit in it, which is a bit annoying. Also, no paperwork came with it. Usually, mics like this come with warranty info and a spec sheet. Contacted the company, and they said people usually toss that stuff, but I like to keep it.

Really happy

Just got this mic, and honestly, it's pretty awesome. The sound quality is spot on, but the packaging? Not so much. One corner of the box was a bit smashed, and when I opened it, there were foam bits everywhere. Seriously, it was like a mini foam explosion. The mic itself was thankfully wrapped up nicely, so it was safe. But yeah, had to clean up a mess before I could even use it. I mean, I got it on sale, so maybe it's just one of those trade-offs. Overall, really happy with the mic, just wish the packaging was better.

I finally got my hands on the microphone! Initially, they sent it through USPS, but they don't deliver to my place for some reason. I reached out to the office, and they were super helpful, resending it via UPS. It took an extra week, but it was totally worth the wait. The microphone itself looks and feels top-notch, just like it was described. No complaints at all, it works perfectly and the sound quality is amazing. I recently bought two mics from this store, but only got one in the package. Little annoying, right? Anyway, I contacted their support and they fixed it pretty quick and sent me the second mic. I was kinda hoping they'd have serial numbers in sequence, but they don't. Oh well, not a biggie. I'm still super excited to test them out. Overall, the experience was mostly positive and their customer service was on point. Can't wait to see how these mics perform!

I grabbed this new gadget

I grabbed this new gadget to record my trumpet, hoping for some crisp, clean sound. But, when I played it back, it came out kind of distorted, even with the gain set super low. It's like the sound just didn't match up with what I was playing. Not quite what I expected, honestly. I’m holding out hope, though, because I haven’t tried it on vocals yet. Maybe it'll surprise me there. It's just a bit frustrating when the first test run doesn't hit the mark. Fingers crossed it handles vocals better, 'cause right now, it's kind of a letdown. We'll see how it goes once I get around to that vocal track.

I'm in the UK.

I'm in the UK. I paid for it on the 3rd of October On the 15th I received notice it had arrived in Switzerland & I would be informed when it would reach the UK. It takes me 14 hours to drive to Lucerne in Switzerland. It's now November, a month after my purchase, & it still hasn't shown up.
