I wanted to rent a car for a holiday in Greece. Expedia offered decent conditions - a good car for a small fee. After payment, I read the conditions - the presence of a credit or debit card, driving documents was indicated. I tried to clarify via email but did not receive any answers. After arriving at the airport, we were taken to the landlord's office where it turned out that according to "their rules" there should be only a credit card - a debit card is not accepted. I wrote a letter to Exspedia - they promised to deal with it and return the funds, but the funds were not returned, because "such are the rules of the landlord". No arguments with screenshots of Expedia's terms and conditions sent to the lease helped. Together with us, there were two other families in which there was the same situation - they were also denied rent. And this is from four or three families. It seems,that the landlord simply, together with Expedia, earns on unexpected services. The car rental firm said it was Exspedia's fault, but Expedia said the opposite.It just looks like a common deception. I do not advise anyone to contact this frivolous and irresponsible firm.

But when we contacted Expedia to cancel, they said they can’t or won’t give a refund. Below is a copy of the Expedia cancelation policy. Cancellation and no-show 100% refund if you cancel up to 48 hours before pick-up. Cancellations made after that till the time of pick-up are subject to a fee of EUR 50.00 (approximately AU$85.78) or amount paid online, whichever is lesser. There will be no refund in case of cancellations made after that or no-shows. Get 100% refund on insurance if it is cancelled before pick-up time. This will be cancelled automaticaly with your car cancellation.

Absolut worst company.

Absolut worst company. Complete scam. Said they would give a refund, even emailed proof, then took $205.00 as a “processing fee.” Many months, many calls to their awful customer service, and still no money. Watch out for this company. Hides behind foreign call centers, takes huge fees that feel like theft, and never gets caught. So many unhappy, cheated customers. Again, avoid them!

I've been with this company for ages. Today's customer service was far from average. I spent over four hours trying to change a flight and hotel booking for three days. They overcharged me $1,400 due to a "system error" and wanted me to pay again. They said the refund would take 7-10 days.

We booked a hotel with Expedia.

The room didn't have proper air conditioning and the second room was on another floor which had a sewage problem. This room was 81 degrees when we were offered it. The hotel said they couldn't refund because we booked through Expedia and then Expedia said it was up to the hotel. They don't take care of issues. They just make sure they get their money. DO NOT USE THEM.
