I recently sold my car on this website to someone 2000 miles away. They handle the money and provide temporary tags for the buyer. They take care of all the paperwork for $99. It was quite a simple process, although a little confusing, had to call twice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The notifications didn't always work, so missed some offers, but it all worked out in the end with a slight delay. Still worth it.

This company's a real clown outfit, making it almost impossible to use. More security hassle than a bank. When you finally get into the limp-wristed account, it offers very little facility to do anything. I placed a free advert from our business account, which, like most of the world, can have anything before the @ sign. Just like Autotrader itself, who also use a 1001 names before the @autotrader.com, such as accounts, complaints, service, etc. And worse, they send you emails from other email addresses too, so if we implied the same daft logic, we would never get their emails. So can't list a car because we cannot reply to customers unless we change all our email systems to suit their nonsense. The account also doesn't allow you to answer emails from within the account. So now all we can do is get phone calls, which they also manipulate. A total farce and a complete waste of time. Finally, Autotrader have 2 sites on here. The other is autotrader.co.uk with rigged reviews, so I guess they just change the name slightly when they get too many negatives. I'm off elsewhere.

Posting an ad on Autotrader was easy. However, the follow-up was less than satisfactory. I only received messages from people trying to sell fake vehicle history reports. Autotrader needs to offer a more reliable service, especially if these reports are needed to finalize a sale.

AutoTrader ain't worth it no more. It used to be good, 20 years back. Now it's all just dealerships and scammers. Avoid it. Such a waste of $50.

They called to confirm an appointment Thursday for Friday; when we arrived at the dealer, the car had been sold a week ago! What a disrepectful company! We lost work time, drove 1 hour from home, and for nothing?!? It's clear that customer respect is not part of their values!

A company that posts cars that are NOT in stock! Don’t bother looking as you will see that the cars have already been sold by dealers, but autotrader still has the ads up. This is a clear case of misleading advertising which is against the law.
