Disconnected and unresponsive

My initial experience with Joyous was moderately good. The provider consult wasn’t especially warm or personal but oh well. I commenced treatment, the important part, and then figured out a dose and timing that worked for me. However when I hit the timeframe for my provider check-in and I was running low on meds the program failed. First appointment the provider no showed, second appointment they booked for the wrong time zone and the provider couldn’t fit me in. Third appointment the provider no showed again. I texted my story and my concerns to customer service and in my appointment review. Bottom line I ran out of meds and have never once heard back from anyone connected to this company. Kind of unforgivable.

Shortly after taking ketamine, my anxiety spiked significantly, which was unexpected and distressing. In response, I diligently reported my concerns during my daily check-ins. However, my attempts to seek help and understanding were met with a frustrating lack of support and empathy. The responses I received from Joyous appeared to be generic and automated, failing to address my specific issue. Despite detailing that nothing else had changed in my life and that I had followed the guidelines by not consuming caffeine near the medication, the responses remained unhelpful and didn't offer any insights or solutions. Given the increased anxiety I experienced as a result of the ketamine treatment and the inadequate support I received, I made the decision to discontinue it. Feeling worse and unsupported in such a situation is not only counterproductive but also potentially harmful. Joyous must make significant improvements to their customer care and transparency to ensure the safety, well-being, and satisfaction of their patients. The current state of their care team falls short of the standard one would expect in a healthcare context.

This program seemed like a good idea, and I was excited to try it. I had already been approved for IV treatments before, but I was worried about triggering a manic episode because of my bipolar 2 disorder. Microdosing seemed like the best choice to help with that. However, my experience with their healthcare person was not good. Especially when it came to managing my medications. I felt like they didn't trust me when there was a mistake in my medication list, even though I had updated it to show that I wasn't taking certain medications anymore. And even though I had been taking a low dose of Adderall for six years with regular medical check-ups, they didn't believe me when I said I didn't check my blood pressure every day. I didn't need to because I had records of every blood pressure test I'd had. I understand needing a letter from my psychiatrist to get a low dose of Ketamine, but asking for more medical documents and proof of my condition felt unfair. It made me feel like they thought I was lying about my diagnosis and medications. I can't recommend this company because of how they treated me. Dealing with depression and anxiety is hard enough without feeling like you're being interrogated just for trying to get help. This is why people are scared to talk about their mental health problems openly, because of stigma and punishment.

I've received no response regarding my appointment, despite sending two emails to the provided email address, both of which bounced back with error messages. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to get in touch with anyone. This experience has been a significant waste of my time.

Run like hell! Great ketamine medication but thats if you get it? They charge your credit card even after you quit and havent received meds. There IS NO WAY TO SPEAK TO A HUMAN. How does joyous have a doctor prescribe a medication you desperately need then say you need an appointment follow up but you have to make appointment on the portal that will not allow you to make one! There is no way to make the appointment or it states" providers are all filled up with appointments. So now you dont get a refill ( if you havent quit already) and many people post on joyous webite they havent had any medication for over a week.if you want to be pissed all the time join Joyous

Beware

I started on this with Joyous for chronic depression about a year ago. You do no speak to doctors or even licensed therapists. In 1 year I had three zoom meetings. They never gave any warnings or pointers with talking this med and now I have liver failure which is a very high chance with taking it, I found that out after the fact. Please be careful with these online businesses. They are all get rich and who cares about the people they are affecting. They will only text and not speak on the phone. You can’t reach an office and even after I texted them twice saying this caused liver failure (which is a legit side affect) the only response I got was we cancelled your membership. I’ll be talking to a lawyer soon.

Horrible Company. Making a profit off of sick and desperate people. Ive had alot of ketamine in my life and this had ZERO effect on me. I question what it is at all honestly. Then after I cancelled and only received ONE month of medication they continued to charge me for 5 months after. Even if they don't send you any more ketamine you will be charged 130$ for ever. I had to file a complaint with my bank and they still fought it. I ended up having to change my card number for them to stop attempting to charge me. It truly is a scam. Please, if you are depressed and in pain, this company will just make things worse for you in the long run. Disgusting people and NO PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT THEM! SCAM- Do NOT give these people your money

I was on this "treatment" for about 5 months, the company charged me $129 for my last prescription, then i canceled my subscription. They did not send me the last shipment, which they charged me for, and refused to offer a refund and gave me a bunch of BS about how the charge is not only for the medication, but for the "daily check ins", which amount to automated texts that ask how you're doing every day. I couldn't give a rat's ass about their very automated "check-ins", the whole point of this service was to receive medication. So I was charged $129 and received NO product, and they aren't offering a refund. This company is a SCAM, impossible to talk to a real human, and horrific customer service. I am now working with my credit card company to file a complaint against them, but I am warning anyone--- Do NOT do business with Joyous, they are a terrible company, and they will try to rip you off. Horrible.

Very sketchy. Did not show up for appointment.

I scheduled an appointment and filled out all intake paperwork. I received confirmation of receipt and a link for the appointment. 5 minutes before my appointment I logged in. I waited 30 minutes. I called the company and they have a voicemail saying they do not take calls to please text . So I texted and no response. 24 hours later I received a text message saying sometimes they cancel appointments but they gave no reason as to why and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I will not be trusting my health to this company and I would not recommend wasting your time.

Terrible Communication

They will only communicate via text message. I was not able to get service because of misinformation back and forth. I gave up on their services. Their responses via text are also canned responses and they do not reply with very much input. I found it impossible to communicate with this company. They do not a phone option at all and feels like I am talking to a BOT in text.

Joyous truly changed my life. I was struggling from anxiety after the traumatic loss of my late husband. It was greatly affecting my relationship with my current husband. I would have obsessive, intrusive worries about my husband - constantly afraid of being left alone again. I didn’t want to take SSRIs or anxiety medication because of past negative experiences. Joyous not only helped to change my thinking patterns, but I also began exercising regularly & consistently, which I had never been able to keep up with. I took piano lessons for a full year and kept learning and improving. Overall Joyous helped with my mental health, relationship, self-discipline, and self-esteem. After a little over a year on 100mg, I’ve decided it’s time to get off of ketamine. I am grateful for the immense change it has brought into my life - it has really turned me into a believer. Dangerously Unprofessional

I found it very, very hard to deal with Joyous as a company. They cancelled appointments with my provider, then told me that because I was ONE MINUTE late to the rescheduled appointment, my provider left. At another time, my provider failed to show up for my appointment at all. So, yes, I saw some improvement in my anxiety symptoms (though not in my depression symptoms) but the company made it nearly impossible for me to continue taking it! And after all of the screw-ups with my appointments, I started to lose confidence in Joyous. They are dispensing a very potent, potentially dangerous substance and they just don’t seem to take that seriously. If you can’t wait 1 minute for a patient to get to her appointments, you might just be an online pill mill. I would look elsewhere (Mindbloom) for ketamine therapy. Joyous is too scattershot, inconsistent and unprofessional.

When I reached out for a consultation, they really made sure I wouldn’t forget my appointment. Got bombarded with texts and emails, probably to make sure I’d show up for my Telehealth visit. I’ve had ketamine treatments before with a private doctor and they were great, so I thought I’d give this place a shot. But after the telehealth session with an RN, all that pre-meeting follow-up disappeared. No calls, no nothing. Felt like they were all about the money and once they got me in, they lost interest. Kinda disappointing, honestly. If they put as much effort into post-appointment follow-ups as they did before, maybe it would've been better. Not impressed.

Meds don’t reach patients on time

Three times in a row, the company was unable to get medicine to me before I ran out. If you’re taking a higher dose, that can really hurt your ability to sleep and eat, going to zero. The company offers no reimbursement for not providing medication on time.

Disappointing

Was excited to try this. Spoke to a real doctor. Started a low dose. AI system kept changing the dose. Daily surveys, which was fine. Then, a requirement to have psychiatrist fill out forms for you and submit them to the site in order to continue treatment with Joyous. Not everyone has a psychiatrist. Was unable to refill and no one would work with me. The medication was an improvement but the site has a few people who hide behind the AI program and random text messages giving you instructions. There is very little human involvement or interaction and it is nearly impossible to reach somebody. There is no phone number. They do not respond to emails. They're only communication is via generic text messages and then periodic video chats.

Combining the ketamine with weekly

Combining the ketamine with weekly, then bi-weekly, talk therapy has helped me understand and manage the "bad neighborhood" that I've always described my mind. At first, I still felt down, but over time, I learned coping skills, and I liked the effects of the ketamine a lot and learned to make the most of it. My sleep got better, I lost weight because my impulse control improved. I drink less, and I feel much better than I did when I started. I know it's a sudden end for me, but I'm ready to live my life more capable and in a better headspace than 15 months ago.

Getting texts from these guys

Getting texts from these guys was driving me nuts! I mean, 3-6 times a day, from 6am to almost 10:30pm? Non-stop. They kept reminding me to do my daily survey even after I'd done it. Tried their chat support, but it just sent me to call a number. Called the number, and they told me to email. Emailed, and they told me to open a ticket. When I did, their replies were just generic and didn't even address my issue. After several rounds, they just stopped responding. Kept asking them to call me, but nothing. The NP prescribing was fine, but the company's customer service is the worst. They seriously need to get their act together.

This company is a joke and run with AI

You’re going to get multiple text messages a day and fill out these little surveys and then you’re gonna get a text message saying you’re having side effects when you specifically noted that you weren’t having side effects and then they’re gonna lower your dose and then then they’re gonna raise your dose and then they’re gonna lower it and then they’re gonna raise it a lot and then they’re gonna lower it all because, their system is run by a computer and not a person and his so messed up. I finally found something that’s working for me but unfortunately, the company sucks.

They will not answer a phone and all communication is through text, which is obviously run by AI. Have a problem? Good luck, send multiple texts only to receive a text of complete nonsense. I am now trying to get a refund and they refuse to communicate. Stay away these people are awful!!!

I wnet from barly being able to get out of bad to now going back to college for my Master's degre! I would recomend Joyus to anyone who has tried other meds and theropies with no success. I will definatly join Joyus again in the futre if my treatment-resistant depression comes back.

The product does seem to help, but it's not much better than other medications. I call it a product, but Joyous treats it more like a membership. You’re not really considered a patient. In my case, Joyous suddenly told me, “you are being discharged, and your subscription is cancelled immediately.” This felt very careless, especially when I thought the product was starting to work. No problem, though. Since it’s just a membership, I signed up again, and now Joyous is sending me the product. They don’t seem to take the membership seriously. The shipping is often late, sometimes by a week, and the doses vary in strength. It makes me wonder if the product’s quality is consistent. I’m planning to cancel my membership now. If you're struggling, this might help, but I wouldn't rely on it for the long run.

Non existent customer service…. RUN

I attempted to sign up for this service. I had my intake appointment w/ my provider who stated I will receive a link to pay (allowing meds to ship) after we hung up. It has been 6 days since my appt and I still have not received the payment link. There is no way to call and talk to an actual person, but they do allow texts. I have sent 3 texts plus five emails. All I get it ‘they are looking into it and will get back to me as quickly as possible. No actual info, no timeline. No one assigned to my case for resolution. Yesterday I sent my final email/text/online messages saying they had until end of day to actually provide assistance or I would be going with a competitor and writing reviews to warn others. They didn’t even bother to respond to that one. As a 20 yr nurse who has worked directly with medication orders in physician clinics this is absolutely BONKERS. This is not the way a professional company providing medical care behaves. It’s just not. There are a lot of companies providing this service now, find one who actually cares about their patients.

It feels like the company is run by a skeleton crew, and they still charged me for a subscription even after I asked to cancel it. $130 might not be a big deal for some, but for me, it’s a lot, and they refused to give me a refund. Canceling my plan was a nightmare, I had to chase them down because they ignored my first request. Eventually, I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company because they wouldn’t reimburse me. It’s frustrating because this service could be life-changing, but their lack of support and responsiveness is a huge letdown. There might be better options out there, even if they cost more.
